Weather Watchers

Last week my students enjoyed observing the weather and comparing our observations from Pickett County with NewsChannel5's weather on the internet. We used our thermometer to measure the degrees fahrenheit and our wind sock to determine light and strong winds.

Mr. Bill receives our package!

Mr. Bill received our package. He sent us a thank you note and a picture of him standing by some of our artwork.

Our Soldier-CW4 William J. Sands III

Parents,

My classes are putting together a package to send to Warrant Officer Bill Sands. He has served in Iraq and is now in Afghanistan. We are going to send him letters that we write in class as assignments, color pictures, and art. If you would like to purchase small items such as gum, candy, soap, drink mix for water, etc we will send our package the week before Fall Break. Mr. Bill is from Atlanta, Georgia. He married a native of Byrdstown and has a home here. He has three children in our school this year. I hope to share more class activities on my blog-www.mrspamsclass.blogspot.com.

Surprise Performance!

All of the 5th graders may not have accomplished a reading fluency goal set by Mrs. Pam, but they did all make tremendous progress. As a reward, Kadence Winningham performed by singing and playing guitar to some of her own songs and other artists such as Miley Cyrus, Allison Kraus, and Dolly Parton.

Halloween

Hey diddle, diddle

The ghost in the fiddle!

The witch jumped over the moon!

The little pumpkin laughed to see such a sport!

And the cat ran away with the spider!
